Can not boot

Hi,
My newly received visonfive board doesn’t boot at all. I have tried two sandisk sdcards, and also tried Fedora and Debian images in the forum, and even reflashed the bootloader, but the issue remains there:

Futhermore, if I remove the sdcard from the board, and power it, I see the same errors above. So I guess maybe the board can not woek with my two sandisk sdcards?

It frustrates me a lot. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, it seems that the TF card is not found。
Can you show me which model card you are using and try another one?

hi,

They are sandisk c10 A1 ultra tf card, both are 64g. I bought from taobao:

They work well on other machines and orange pi boards.

Are the two TF cards the same model?
Can you take a photo on the back of the TF card, like the picture below.

Which version of fedora image are you flashing? It is strongly recommended that you use the latest fedora image.
You can download from here: https://github.com/starfive-tech/Fedora_on_StarFive

I just take photos of them, not very clear though😅

Due to me being a new user here, I have to post them in two seperate posts. Sorry.

I can confirm that I flashed the latest fedora image downloaded there.

The serial numbers of them are:
85070VKHG07A
1356XX05229X

Sorry, it looks like you have a TF card compatibility issue.

Hi,

So what brands and models of tf cards are recommended now? I can’t wait to boot it now hahaha

You can try it with a Samsung card(16G or more).
We rarely encounter compatibility issues with SanDisk cards. :grimacing:

OK, I’ll purchase a Samsung card recently. And will an update of bootloader in the future fixes this issue?

@darkgeek based on your log, it seems the card is not detected under u-boot. would you please double check whether the card is inserted. unlike raspberry pi, the TF card slot of VisionFive has a self-locking function and you need to press it to the bottom.

Till now, we only find the same issue on Kingston 64GB TF card.

Hi,

I’m sure the card is inserted to the bottom, I do “feel” the self-locking when inserting.:grinning:

That’s how I insert the card:

I’m back. Tried a Samsung TF card (EVO Plus 64G A1 V10) and still no go, same issue, what a pity. I’m afraid that maybe there’s something wrong with card reader/controller on the board…

@Michael.Zhu @julie

could you please try mmc info in u-boot command line?

Are you in china now? I’ll send you an email。
