VisionFive powers the world's first RISC-V Minecraft server

One of the things that I’ve been wanting to do with my VisionFive is make a Minecraft server. I tried this once before with a Sipeed LicheePi, but it was too slow. Luckily, the much faster processor with the JH7100 makes for a better experience. According to bstats.org, there are 160000 Minecraft servers on the planet, but only 1 uses RISC-V, and that’s this one.

I made this server by downloading a Java 19 JIT build from Shipilev and using the Purpur server software, all running on Ubuntu Server. You can access this server yourself at riscv.hajime.sh with Minecraft 1.19.2.

I’m hoping that when my VisionFive 2 arrives this server will get even faster.
