China to Publish Policy to Boost RISC-V Chip Use Nationwide-sources
China plans to issue guidance to encourage the use of open-source RISC-V chips nationwide. The policy guidance on boosting the use of RISC-V chips could be released as soon as this month. It is being drafted jointly by eight government bodies, including the Cyberspace Administration of China, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the China National Intellectual Property Administration.

2. OpenWrt 24.10 released with Linux 6.6, TLS 1.3 by default, and 1970 supported devices
OpenWrt 24.10 open-source lightweight Linux operating system for routers has just been released. It’s been upgraded to Linux 6.6 from Linux 5.15 in OpenWrt 2023.05, supports TLS 1.3 by default, improves support for WiFi 6 (802.11ax), and adds initial support for WiFi 7 (802.11be). starfive target for StarFive JH71x0 SoCs were added.

4. Alpine Linux 3.21.1 Released
Alpine Linux 3.21.1 is out now as a maintenance release of the Alpine Linux 3.21 series introducing a U-Boot release tarball for RISCV64 and StarFive VisionFive2 boards.
5. DietPi v9.11 Released
The February 23th, 2025 release of DietPi v9.11 adds support for Pi-hole v6, and a few fixes. Fixes for VisionFive 2 and Star64 are included.
