Alpine Linux For VisionFive

The Alpine Linux is an independent, non-commercial, general purpose Linux distribution designed for power users who appreciate security, simplicity and resource efficiency. And the minimal installation just requires around 130 MB of disk storage. So, I DO expect that Alpine Linux can run on VisionFive, may some master-hands can do it.

Alpine Linux have been planning to make RISC-V support available in the stable releases but it hasn’t been possible yet.

Here is the Alpine Linux issue tracker for the official riscv64 support. More information will be available here as progress is made.

We (Alpine team) have running alpine on visionfive V1 for about one year now, and we added V2 about three weeks ago.
