It’s extremely painful to download any of the official images.
You either go through OneDrive and 100KB/s download rates or you have to download some obscure BaiduNet(?) software that few are willing to do (I doubt it would help with download rates).
Another option in some images is a torrent and now you have to pray there is someone online with the image you need. I’m currently looking at only 2 peers for the 59 image, only one is downloading at 131KB/s which will take hours.
Starfive should invest in a proper download area with CDN and avoid this hassle.
As a test, I downloaded the 202405 SD image from OneDrive, and it downloaded at around 10MB/s. Baidu is a bit like a Chinese Google. Perhaps not well known outside of China.
But just to make sure, which browser did you use to download from OneDrive? I used Firefox. Are you using a VPN? Are you using an adblocker?
Chrome, no VPN, adblocker.
EDIT: found another random file there and I’m downloading at 20MB/s. Tried a different one, 100KB/s. So it’s not a reliable way for Starfive to deliver files when it has to depend on OneDrive’s caching the content (and expiring it periodically). Anyone that will try to download these in a different region that is not very popular will again face the same issues. I think this is basic cloud computing 101.
So, Microsoft can’t even manage OneDrive properly?
But I’m really wondering why you need image 55. I was hoping that by now everyone has upgraded from the old firmware. Because I don’t see any other reason why you would still need it.

You just mentioned the reason I need image 55.
OneDrive is not made for this. What’s your point?
Unless you’re from Starfive, I fail to see how you’re helping here.
Whether I’m an employee or not, that changes nothing about my post. Spoiler, I’m not. But this is a public forum, so I don’t need to be an employee.
Going through my old notes, I think image 55 is also available from Github. Release VisionFive2 Software v2.5.0 · starfive-tech/VisionFive2 · GitHub
You can take your frustration out on me, but that won’t speed up your downloads. It’s strange that Microsoft tries to convince us that OneDrive is a platform to share files.
