OpenCV support?

Dear StarFive Support,

From your slides for the RISC-V summit on Dec 8th 2021, you shared your Open-Source Software Ecosystem, but I do not see the OpenCV. Therefore, I would like to know if it is possible to integrate OpenCV into the rootfs from the freelight-u-sdk or specifically from its buildroot submodule, please ?

Thanks for your suggestion, but, there are no plans to support opencv on VisionFive。

Thanks for your prompt reply. However, it seems that OpenCV is popular in machine vision-based applications. Could you share your opinion of possible obstacle / reason of using OpenCV with VisionFive, please ?

Yes, JH7100 does not support vector instructions.

Do you mean the RISC-V vector extension (which is a must for running OpenCV) is missing in JH7100?

Not necessary, but it would be better if vector extension were supported。

Currently working to get an ArchPOWER image for VisionFive board an OpenCV as well as projects depening on it build and work just fine as far as I can tell. Though I can’t judge how well it performs, I’m in no way a pro-user here.
