Has anyone tried out the mainline kernel? I’ve successfully booted from a sys-kernel/gentoo-sources:6.15.6 built on the VisionFive 2 itself. There’s still no video out or heartbeat led but everything else works flawlessly and it works great as a headless system to uart or SSH into. Here is the kernel config (138.0 KB) I used for anyone else who wants to try.
If you have a 8GB VisionFive 2 you might have to edit the memory sections of the upstreamed kernels dts code. As a quick and dirty example:
--- /usr/src/linux/arch/riscv/boot/dts/starfive/jh7110-common.dtsi (4GB)
+++ /usr/src/linux/arch/riscv/boot/dts/starfive/jh7110-common.dtsi (8GB)
