I just wanted to know if any generic USB Wifi module would be compatible with the visionfive2. I was thinking of getting one off this list:
Hi realDelta2, have you ever see this doc before?
Here includes the USB WiFi module that the StarFive have tested.
@Chloe I can’t see any WiFi modules listed there?
I don’t know if this is what you’re looking for, but I do see one entry that may apply, under the category PCIe:
PCIe to WiFi AX210 Intel® Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) √
I hope that’s useful.
I saw this a while back:
I have five wireless dongles:
RTL8192CU：“EDUP” in the first picture
MT7601U：one is “Mi” in the first picture，second is “du” in the first picture
ECR6600U：the green dongle in the first picture, Officially provided.
RTL8832AU：“EDUP” in the second picture
In these wireless dongles, both ECR6600U and RTL8832AU support WiFi6.
ECR6600U supports 2.4GHz. RTL8832AU supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
I successfully use these five wireless dongles on VisionFive 2.
The Chinese version of has more technical details than the shorter English version. Use something like google translate to read:
Also might be worthwhile searching for “RISC-V USB WiFi” in a search engine of your choosing. Because if a WiFi USB dongle can be got to work with one RISC-V board, the odds are high that with a bit of effort it can probably work with a different RISC-V board.
I already have my m.2 key taken up by an Nvme ssd so that won’t work for me.
This topic may help you. Here list some wifi module that compatible with VisionFive 2
我手头除了官方提供的 WiFi dongle，还有4种以前用过的，具体如下：
绿色板子的，就是官方提供的 WiFi dongle，奕斯伟ESWIN的ECR6600U，其具体参数如下：
I think I saw that before, but I have not really dug into it, Ill look into it later and see what I can do. Thank you
