This thread is now way off topic, but here is my conclusion:
X11, when the graphics subsystem is supported by the kernel and proper drivers, works just fine. I’m not sure what the needs of others are, but I have never had an issue personally. Sure, they may favor x86 and intel video hardware, but I’m sure Wayland is the same.
Who cares if software is 10 years old. If it works, it works.
It works on my desktop, and it probably would work on the VF2 if we had proper drivers.
I know I am alone in this thinking, because if a user is not using the very latest version of software that came out yesterday and is untested by the masses, they are using it wrong……
The loudest voices are generally the most wrong.
